Ok, let’s talk MEN’S FASHION: I realize there are lots of men out there who need help. And lots of women who need help dressing the men in their lives, for that matter. You see, dressing men is a lot like dressing women, only easier because there’s less to choose from. The principles are the same: it’s all about fit, layering helps any outfit look styled, invest in great shoes & boots, go chain stores for basics, look through magazines and to celebrities for inspiration, organize your closet and HAVE FUN! Oh, one more thing…like with women’s fashion don’t talk yourself out of trying new things. Just try it! You’ll be surprised at what works. Below are street looks I love. Now, don’t think you need a ton of money to dress well…items above and below, or one’s very similar to them, can be found at JCrew, The Gap, H&M, Urban Outfitters and Top Man (Top Shop for men). And if you want to splurge a little, visit Barney’s, John Varvatos or Rag & Bone. It’s less about the money you spend and more about the way you put it together. A great tip for the styling-challenged: look at what the mannequins in the stores are wearing; if you dig it, try it on just like that! After all, professional stylists put those outfits together; it won’t always be your thing but you can find stellar outfits this way…trust me.

For men especially, invest in great layering pieces like a casual blazer, pullover sweaters and cardigans, military jackets and a great trench coat (stay away from super long ones or you’ll look like a flasher). Also, experiment with skinny ties and scarfs! Men are so afraid of skinny ties and scarfs but seriously they can turn a “blah” outfit into a “you’re definitely get laid tonight” outfit 
Finally, get this out of your head “Only gay men dress fashionable” ugh, shut up. YES, lots of gay men have excellent style but let me tell you this…THERE IS NOTHING HOTTER THAN A STRAIGHT MAN WHO CAN DRESS! Can I get an Amen ladies? Seriously, one of the BEST compliments I’ve ever received for my styling is when one of my male clients revealed “I get so much more attention from hot girls now, its awesome!” YES!!!
