- If your button-down shirt falls more than 3 inches past your belt, TUCK IT IN.
- If it falls less than 3 inches past your belt or at it, you can LEAVE IT OUT.
- There’s also the HALF TUCK trick. Just tuck in the front portion of your top so that your belt buckle shows.
When you don’t tuck in button-down shirts that are too long you end up looking sloppy and bigger (as in fatter) than you are. Throw on a belt and show off your waist! Its a much more polished and “put together” look.
