summer in the hills

I had an impromptu photo shoot today with my extremely talented photographer bud Bradley Meinz. Here’s what we came up with. In this look: Charlotte Ronson Sheer Top, American Apparel Lace Tube Bra, Levi’s Jean Shorts, American Eagle Belt, Melody Ehsani Watch Ring, Ray Ban Wayfarers & Cynthia Vicent for Target Wedges.

    I love the clothes! See, you know how to dress yourself!! Well done ;) I am also into the orange lipstick that you are rocking. I think that will need to be my next purchase. I will have to be careful to get just the right shade, though.

    Hey hot stuff! Love these pics. There are people who would accuse you of wearing mom shorts here. Can you write a post for all those doofuses, explaining that high waisted jeans do not = mom jeans?

      ha! laura as usual you crack me up! high waist is IN and way better than low, pubic/butt-crack showing daisy dukes! those days are long gone.

      plus what’s wrong with mom shorts? its all about vintage these days and my mom rocked some seriously stylish sh*t. so in conclusion though this look is DEFINITELY NOT for everyone…it works for the daring and the young at heart no matter what age. dress in what makes YOU feel good. and forget about the doofuses. xo

I wanted someone to speak up for Jessica Simpson when everyone was a) calling her fat and b) ragging on her for wearing “mom jeans.” She was just working the high-waisted look. I’m a fan. As for what’s wrong with mom jeans/ shorts, that term does not refer to your hot mama. The stylin’ ones would be called “Grasie’s mom jeans.” The others, which she would never wear, have an especially long ass, ugly wash, and are available through venues like Land’s End catalog.
