Five nights in Tennessee for Bonnaroo proved to be quite an adventure. Actually, 6 nights since I had to spend an extra day in Nashville when my flight was cancelled! More on that later. Teva, aka the unofficial sandals of all music festivals, sent a group of bloggers to Bonnaroo and it was such a good time. Erica, Daniela, Jenny, Eugenie & myself were flown into TN, where we then drove to a beautiful house on a gorgeous lake in Smithville. That’s were we stayed. It was about an hour drive to the festival each day, but totally worth it. I can’t lie…I would have died if they made us camp on the grounds. #sorrynotsorry. Though the VIP tent sure we’re pretty, no AC in 80+ degree, humid weather, bugs and no indoor plumbing would have been a challenge for me (I pee like 4 times a night, no joke!). But luckily, we woke up every morning to a view that was so beautiful it didn’t even seem real.
The festival itself was so much fun! I took the “old lady at a festival” route and enjoyed all the classics. Tears for Fears, Earth Wind & Fire, and Billy Joel were definitely my highlights. But I also had a blast at Florence & The Machine, Kendrick Lamar, Tove Lo and a comedy set by Natasha Leggero. The festival is 4 days long so halfway through Erica, Daniela & I took the day off. Instead of catching more music, we stayed at the house for a chill day, took photos by the lake, lounged by the pool and had an adventure at Walmart. It was the perfect reset. I’ll be sharing pics from our day off next week.
Then after our Bonnaroo fun was over, we headed to Nashville. I absolutely love that city. It has such a lively energy and feel to it. We were supposed to be there for lunch alone, then hop on a plane back to LA, but sadly (or maybe not so sadly), the LA flight was delayed 5 times then ultimately cancelled. So us LA bloggers spent an extra night in Nashville, where we had the most delicious dinner at Etch followed by cocktails at Robert’s Western World and the most amazing southern breakfast the next morning at Puckett’s. After that, the Tennessee ride was really over and we all came back to La La…it was such a great trip! The End.
Thank you to Teva for an epic adventure!
