Soaking up my last few days at my parents’ house. While I’m eager to get back to my LA life, I’ve been loving all the family time and the upstate chill. I grew up in Brooklyn & Manhattan but my family moved up here when I started college so Rhinebeck, NY has been my nature retreat for almost half my life! Greenery, birds, bugs, deers, bunnies, rain and lots of humidity does a body good. I’ll miss it. And Charli will miss it even more! Hopefully COVID will chill and we’ll be back for Christmas. 🙏🏽 PS - I brought a suitcase full of clothes to only wear this @you.swim suit & @jungle__gurl shorts pretty much every day. #rhinebeck #upstateny #familytime #chill

When I made a short film about my experience with IVF and shared my infertility journey on my blog, I opened up that very personal part of me to anyone who cared to watch and read it. But I was happy to do it and was so moved by the comments and emails from women with similar stories. Then when I put everything baby related on hold, I started getting sporadic messages from people asking how it was all going. Sending love and prayers that IVF would work for me. Little did they know, I had stopped trying. I started really questioning whether motherhood was in the cards for me and if I wanted to continue on that path. I thought about writing about it again but then @mollyhawkey asked me to be on her podcast @spermcast and I thought “well here’s the perfect opportunity to get it all out there!” And I did. I had a lovely time talking with Molly and spilling the beans. It’s funny to be a guest on a podcast the same week I launched my own podcast! I’m stepping into this podcast world like whoa! I wanted to talk to people about their feelings of “not enoughness.” Insecurities, imposter syndrome, self-confidence or lack thereof; all things I ponder often and feel myself. Dad. I didn’t know you well growing up but clearly I loved you. Then when you passed, I felt a deep loss. A father/daughter relationship that would never be, yet a connection that still exists. I look like you, I’m a neat freak like you and I can’t sit still like you. I am half of you and for that I’m forever grateful. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there and to my mom and all the single moms who did it all alone. If there’s a relationship in your life you’re thinking about mending, don’t wait.
