the grasie guide: highland park
Named by LA Weekly as “the greatest neighborhood in LA,” Highland Park is definitely a place to visit.
Named by LA Weekly as “the greatest neighborhood in LA,” Highland Park is definitely a place to visit. It’s the new Silver Lake with an edgier vibe and some of my favorite shops and bars. With all the good stuff on York and Figueroa it’s also one of the most walkable neighborhoods in the city.
Here are some of my favorite stops in Highland Park:
- Honeywood Vintage – A great shop where you’ll find an amazing selection of curated vintage clothing and gorgeous hats crafted by the shop’s owner.
- Shorthand – The most adorable, recently opened, stationary store and best place to stock up on clever cards and beautiful pencils. Your desktop will thank you.
- The Hermosillo – Cool, laid-back bar serving up gourmet style bar food, delicious wine and beer. The Highland Park Brewery is connected to this bar so make sure to enjoy some locally made hops.
- Cafe de Leche – Where everybody knows your name and they make a darn good latte! Cafe de Leche is home for HP residents and even bodes a “kid’s section” in back.
So if you’re living in Los Angeles or are visiting anytime soon, make sure to check out Highland Park, the “greatest neighborhood in LA!”
