Because New Year’s Eve is more fun with friends (and tequila!), Amelia and I got together for this one. Ever notice that at every party you’ve ever been to or thrown, everyone always ends up in the kitchen? Not sure what it is about that room but people are definitely drawn to it. Maybe it’s the easy access to cocktail refills or maybe it’s because kitchens are universal and familiar? Whatever it is, it always happens. We took inspiration from our favorite party room and went for it, while sipping on Kimo Sabe Old Fashions. I’m not the biggest fan of champagne and though I love the occasionally mimosa at brunch and will definitely be toasting with a glass at midnight, tequila is what makes my tastebuds happy. So, with that, I wanted to share this recipe for a new favorite cocktail below. Be warned: It’s a stiff drink and meant for sipping, not guzzling. Let me know if you try it. Wishing you a safe and amazing New Year’s night and here’s to a 2016 filled with love, happiness and success. Cheers!
Kimo Sabe Old Fashion
2 ounces Kimo Sabe Reposado
1 teaspoon agave nectar
1 to 2 dashes angostura bitters
Wide swath of orange zest, for garnish
Pour everything but the orange swath into a glass top with a large ice cube and stir for dilution. Spritz orange zest over top and garnish with orange peel.
Please drink responsibly.
