On June 28th, 2013 Damien and I will become husband and wife…which means I have 233 days to get it together! For me, planning a wedding all starts with inspiration. I started on Pinterest, which I’ve always liked, but for planning a wedding, I LOVE PINTEREST!!! Despite both being from the east coast, we want an outdoor California wedding. It’s easier to plan a wedding where you live (as opposed to across the country), more affordable and you don’t have to worry about rain. (I hope I didn’t just jinx myself…eek!). So Cali it is!
Now that the date is set and our location booked, there’s just everything else to take care of, ha! The invites, the entertainment, the dress, the bridesmaids’ dresses, the decorations, the cake, the booze and so on and so on. The number one thing I’m learning, is to take it one step at a time and not get overwhelmed. To enjoy it and not resent it, because the end result will be beautiful and beyond special and that’s what’s important. I have to remember to ask for help (after all, that’s what bridesmaids are for!) and not be a control freak (which I usually am). If I can keep all that in mind, I think I’ll be okay. Thus far, I have found two wedding resources that have been absolute lifesavers!
- Real Simple Weddings Magazine – An easy-to-read, step by step planning guide that is oh so useful. It comes with a timeline and tons of advice on everything from when to send out invitations to ideas on what to add to your registries.
- Postable – The best ever website for gathering mailing addresses and more…including emails, birthdays and spouse’s names. It has a super easy to navigate form and also exports to Excel spreadsheets and label templates!
The photos in this post are reflective of what I want
my our wedding to look like. Romantic, pretty, rustic yet chic with hues of cream, blush and mint. I get more and more excited every time a new decision is made and look forward to having it all together.
Any great wedding tips you want to share? Would love to hear them! Some Wedding Wednesday posts to look forward to: Best Makeup, Best Hair, Finding a Dress, Decorations, The Cake and more…I may have to go from monthly to bi-monthly (or weekly!) posts to cover it all!
