Last week, I had the honor of hosting a lovely dinner with Franciacorta, the superfine sparkling wine from Italy. It was in a private room at Osteria Mozza and some of my favorite LA creatives were in attendance. We dined on a 5 course meal, where each course was accompanied by delicious Franciacorta, each sparkler even more amazing than the next.
But the bubbles did not end there…I was hooked! I brought some Franciacorta home to enjoy with Damien – just the other night I made baked salmon with lemon pasta and had a glass while cooking. Then, we sipped on some more over dinner, and it paired perfectly with the fish and pasta. I’ve even reserved a bottle of the Franciacorta sparkling rosé for a ladies’ night this Friday with some of my favorite girls and can’t wait to cheers with them!
Beyond sipping on the stuff, I’ve been learning about the wine and the region from the pros. Franciacorta is not just its own category of sparkling wine – handcrafted in the classic method, with bubbles made naturally in the bottle – but it also refers to the entire wine region that produces it located about 1 hour from Milan in northern Italy. It’s definitely on our list of places to travel to in Europe asap! It has amazing food (of course it does, it’s Italy!), more than 100 beautiful wineries and looks absolutely gorgeous. I can’t wait to visit one day and drink right from the source.
As if I wasn’t already a fan, I learned that Franciacorta not only has major ties to the fashion industry and is served as the Official Toast of Milan Fashion Week…but it’s also a favorite of George and Amal Clooney (who are favorites of mine :))!
Franciacorta really is the ultimate wine choice for an elegant evening with friends, like luxury in a glass. We had such a fun night and everyone left with a deeper appreciate for this delicious sparkling wine. Ok, now who’s ready for a glass…or two?
Thank you to Franciacorta for an amazing sparkling dinner and for partnering on this post.
