the power of lipstick

Lip 1

Lip 2

Lip 3

You know I love lipstick, right? I really, really do. It empowers me and makes me feel invincible. To this day, I remember the first time I tried a red lip. Like most, I was nervous. “Will I look silly” “Is it too much?” I had my concerns but I still went for it. Since that day, I’ve never looked back! Now, lipstick is what I put on to feel sexy, strong, powerful and alive. While red was my first love, I now experiment with all shades.

For this New Year’s Eve look, I’ve partnered with Burt’s Bees to show the power of lipstick with three lip looks. I love the way each color has it’s own personality that totally changes up the feel of the dress. With the first lip, I layered Burt’s Bees Lipstick in Suede Splash with their Lip gloss in Solar Eclipse for a soft, natural look that’s chic and feminine. For the second lip, I used the NEW Burt’s Bees Gloss Lip Crayon in Pacific Coast as a lip liner to completely fill in my lips. Then, I added the Lipstick in Ruby Ripple on top, to create a bold, vibrant lip color that’s fun and perfect for New Year’s! And for my last lip, I used a Burt’s Bee Gloss Lip Crayon in Bordeaux Vines solo, for a darker look that’s deep and sultry. All three looks worked perfectly with my party dress and I can’t wait to wear them all! On different days, of course. Ha!
