I’m currently reading “The War of Art” by Steven Pressfield and the following quote really struck a chord:

The more scared we are of a work or calling, the more sure we can be that we have to do it.

In other words, fear is a good thing and a great way to tell if what you’re working on or striving for, is worth the effort. Acting is my number one passion and I’m constantly scared (in a good way) about my acting career. What if I never achieve the success I’m striving for? Or even more terrifying, what if I do?! As long as it’s the thing that scares me the most, it will be the thing I love the most.

In a way I apply that same logic to fashion. There was a time I was terrified of skinny jeans or red lipstick. Can you imagine that?! But I tried them one day and now they are my go to’s when I want to feel confident and cool. In this look, I’m wearing my new favorite skinny jeans from Express paired with a classic tee and red pumps. It’s an outfit I can wear over and over and one I often wear to auditions. Here’s to fear and it’s wonderful inspiration!

Thank you to Express for partnering on this post.
