Being in NY this past weekend for my sister’s baby shower (which was AWESOME btw!) had me reflecting on my NYC days. At 25, I decided to leave the only city I ever knew to move to LA and pursue my acting career. I was a producer at MTV at the time and moving up in the company fast. I loved working there but always knew if I didn’t try acting, I would one day regret it. So I QUIT!

I gave my two weeks notice and within a few months I was heading to Cali. I was fortunate enough to land a commercial agent fairly quickly in LA and even more lucky to book 3 commercials my first year in town. I joined SAG and felt like a “real” actress! Reality hit pretty soon after that and I started to learn how hard it was to be a working actress and that no one becomes a star overnight. Long story short, to supplement my acting work I started waiting tables…I hated it. I QUIT again. That’s when I fell into styling then blogging.

Now, years later, I have a blog that I love and a budding acting career that makes me so happy. I could go on and on about my trials and tribulations but the moral of the story is this: I QUIT and it lead to wonderful things. Sometimes quitting IS the right thing to do, if it means you work your a$$ off doing something(s) you love. The end.

I really love your shoes, so cute and fluffy! And ooh, I also want to be an actress, but LA is too far and expensive for me to go yet 🙁 but I still hold on to that dream of mine for being an actress! Lovely and inspiring story of yours btw!

    • Thank you!!! You can act ANYWHERE!!! You don’t have to be in LA. Nowadays you can shoot your own stuff and put it on YouTube and you never know what may come of it. Also take classes in your town/city or do a play. If you really want to do it there’s always a place to start. Good Luck! xo

  • Great outfit! And I really loved reading this post! It’s so interesting to read about other peoples stories, their successes as well as their failures. Wishing you all the best for your acting career!

I love this outfit! Especially how the shoes totally match the one lightly colored “I” in the sweater lol

What really stood out to me was your tales of moving. I really needed to hear right now because I just turned the big TWO FIVE (Monday) and its safe to say I’m already having a quarter-life crisis. I feel like I should to have more accomplished by now since I’m on my way to out of my early 20’s. So to hear you starting from scratch at the very same age was refreshing. I’m still working my way to an actual fashion related job while balancing the typical 9-5 and that can be frustrating but this put some pep in my step! Thanks, Grasie!

Great life story. We need to pursue our dreams since they are ours alone and no one else will do that for us. Wish you all the best.
