When I was in high school, Katz’s Deli was one of my favorite places for an “after-school snack.” I would order the pastrami on a roll (before I knew rye was where it’s at) and eat the whole damn thing. I would eat the sandwich and a potato knish and still have room for dessert. Katz’s Deli is still a favorite and it’s often my first stop when I go back to NY. Thankfully, it’s one of the few places in Manhattan that hasn’t changed a bit over that last decade or two. That pastrami tastes like home and is absolutely delicious. Oh man, I want a sandwich RIGHT NOW!
