I find it amusing when people still question whether or not you can wear white after Labor Day. Umm, YES! Wear any color you want, any time of the year. Rules were meant to be broken and that is especially true in fashion (I love mixing black and navy or black and brown, sue me.) But, even when you’re breaking the rules, there are “rules” to adhere to, because wearing white (or off-white or cream) in fall or winter is totally great, but the kind of fabrics you go for can be important. In summer and spring, stick to lighter fabrics like linen and flowy pieces like a great maxi dress or silk cami. In fall and winter, go for white knits, chunky pieces and fabrics like cashmere or wool. Bottom line, yes you can absolutely wear white after Labor Day, just dress appropriately for the season. This concludes my Labor Day lecture. Now go eat a hot dog and enjoy the last day of summer. HAPPY LABOR DAY!
