David Bowie: Among the Mexican Masters is a very cool exhibit currently showing at the Forest Lawn Museum in Glendale. Fernando Aceves (a rock/music photographer) was offered the opportunity to document David Bowie’s one and only trip to Mexico during his “Earthling” tour back in 1997 and this exhibit showcases that whole experience.
My favorite piece was Greeting Tonatiuh (Aztec God of Sun) – 1 Pyramid of the Sun. It shows Bowie spreading out his arms and looking up to the sky. There’s also Bowie memorabilia and prints available in the gift shop. With a collection of enticing photographs and a Bowie tribute video installation, this is truly a must-see for all Bowie lovers! It’s also the first time ever in the U.S. that this exhibit is being showcased and it’s right here in Glendale.
Hurry and enjoy a peaceful day up at the Forest Lawn Museum because the exhibit is only available until June 15th. The exhibit is free and there’s free parking…win win!
